Tecnotion is the global authority on linear motors. Spun off from Philips in 1999, Tecnotion is the only independent manufacturer in the world to develop, make and sell linear motors. These engines are sold to machine manufacturers all over the world in for example the chip, flat panel display, laser printing and robotics industries. Compared to conventional motors linear motors have much greater precision and virtually no friction, wear or maintenance.
Since 1999 Tecnotion has achieved strong growth due to product innovations, growth at existing clients and new product-market combinations. The company has opened a second production site in China as well as several national sales organizations. The entire organization has become considerably larger and stronger, meaning that Tecnotion will be able to capitalize on the huge potential of Industry 4.0.
